I had my first show with Afton this week and it turned out way better than I thought. Everyone kept telling me "it's a scam!" Getting all freaked out but it turned out to be the best thing I've ever done for myself as an artist. I was super doubtful when I got confirmed to play so I didn't sell tickets or anything. My booking rep Ryan Kintz sent me an email asking I I needed help and offered to help any way he could and I told him I didn't think anyone wanted to buy my tickets so he sent me a bunch of info on how to sell tickets and wished me luck and by the time the show came I had sold the second most tickets out of all the bands performing that night. It wasn't a lot but he was the only one who really seemed to care and I don't think I'll ever forget that. I still have to use all the tips he gave me but I don't doubt that they'll be invaluable. Joining Afton was basically the last thing I needed to truest starts my journey as a performing artist and Ryan really helped with it. There probably isn't a more legit booking agency out there.
I just played my first show via Afton's booking and I was very happy with the whole process. I had the chance to play a sweet reputable venue in Denver and had an awesome memorable experience there. Afton made it incredibly easy to set everything up. It was pretty much accept a date, time, and then show up. On the day of the show I was greeted by an Afton representative and there was zero hassle to sign in. The audio technician there was great too, very friendly and eager to get us ready to play. We experienced no issues there. It was also really cool to meet with the other artists while waiting for the show to begin. Playing Cervantes: the other side, was fantastic! The crowd was really friendly and laid back. They cared about the show and interacted with us when we performed, and this was our first performance for a live audience so I had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the excitement in the crowd which in turn made it so easy for me to get pumped during our act. All in all Afton introduced us to a great crowd and venue and made it so easy to just show up and play. It was a worthwhile experience for me as a local artist.
