Amy Kintz our booking agent has been with us for the long haul. She has been always been responsive to our needs. Our band started several years ago and we were recently signed by a Live Nation Tours and the House of Blues Music Forward Foundation. We could never have had the exposure without Amy and Afton's help. I highly recommend them!
Afton did a great job putting on this show. The venue was nice, sound guy was great, and the booking agent was very understanding and there to make sure all the bands had a good time and a good show. If you see Afton as a way to be able to play more, you headed the right direction, but if you're trying to use Afton to generate income, you'll need a large fan base, because the amount you get paid is determined by the amount of people that buy your tickets. As long as you leave the day of the performance open, you should have no scheduling issues. That being said, try and make sure your fans also know to leave the whole day (or evening) open because you likely won't be notified of your exact set time until the last minute. Overall, there isn't much to complain about, and a lot to praise. Afton is a great way for bands to get exposure and show the world how hard they're working to become something.
Afton booked me right away and supplied a nice stage with a great sound system. The only thing was that the venue wasn’t that nice and the ticket prices were kind of high. If you’re an artist and can sell 20+ a show, then I recommend trying Afton at least once; however, I would like to see better venues.
